Floyd Harrison (Spike) Adams, III
2011-01-11I remember Spike at Hillsboro as a very quiet leader. Our paths crossed again in 2005 when his son and my daughter began dating and he wasn't the Spike Adams I remembered from high school. He and his wife, Patti, were pillars of Harpeth Heights Baptist Church. Spike was anything but shy...very outgoing and full of stories. No longer possessing the athlete's physique of his youth, he was now coaching his son's church league basketball and baseball teams...and they were really good! His 3 sons adored him and he was devoted to them and to Patti. Just before Patti died in November 2009, they became grandparents for the first time. They adored that little granddaughter. Fourteen months later, Spike died, I didn't know Spike well at all at Hillsboro, but I feel very blessed that our paths crossed again all those years later,
