A native of Nashville, died of cancer on Tuesday moring, October 14, 1997 at Vanderbilt University Hospital.  Gloria, a resident of Dunwoody, GA, was visiting in Nashville at the time of her death.  She went to Hillsboro High School where she was a cheerleader and member of the varsity tennis team.  After graduation from Hillsboro, Gloria went to Western Kentucky University.  Gloria was married to Rick Quill on April 9, 1977.  While living in Nashville, they were active at the Lord's Chapel in Brentwood.  In 1982, they moved to Atlanta.  More recently Gloria was President of the Dunwoody, GA, High School Tip Off Club, a member of the Dunwoody High School PTA, and Olympic Host for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and she was an active member of the Calvary Assembly of God Sunday School, Church and Church choir.  She was an active athletic enthusiast involved in water and snow skiing, running, and aerobics.  In addition, she was an accomplished seamstress, homemaker, and caring mother.  She had battled cancer courageously for 28 years.  In addition to her husband, Gloria is survived by her loving children, Caleb (19), Krissa (17), and Richey (12).  Gloria's mother, Ruthelia Buchi, died on September 18, 1997.  Her father is Ernest Buchi, local Nashville businessman.  Other survivors include sisters, Lanell Padgett, Sharon Tillman, Russanne Buchi-Forte, and brother, Russell Buchi. 


Gloria was a close friend in high school.  She will always be remembered by me!   I loved her.   Also I went to same church as she did in Nashville later.  She was a dear gentle soul!!!

Gloria was one of my first friends when I moved to Nashville and remained one my favorite people.  Still seems impossible that we lost you so young.  Miss you.

I miss you so much my dear sweet friend!!! We had So many wonderful years as  precious friends.  I wish you could see your Godson Michael.  We speak of you often.  Rest well my dear Gloria.
