Jimmy Felts

2018-01-21
James (Jim) Miller Felts, 70, entered into rest at his home on January 21, 2018. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara T. Farrar; and his father: Miller R. Felts. He is survived by his sister, Becky Felts (Tom) Rogers, Augusta GA; brother Larry Felts; and nephews Logan and Corbin Felts, all of Nashville.

Jim was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and Vanderbilt University, with a major in Bus. Administration and Related Work: Statistics and Economics.

Jim was the owner and president of HospiceNet, a not-for-profit resource for individuals and their family members facing transitions from life into death. Jim felt strongly that we were ill-equipped for death, and HospiceNet was his contribution of support to all of us.

Jim was also known as a brilliant strategist in the bridge game. He was cool as a cucumber during stressful plays and had enormous support from other players. His bridge community felt a very certain void when Jim walked away from the game 25 years ago, as his health began to decline. Jim did not make his presence aware but continued to follow tournament bridge online right up until his death.
