Cathy Barksdale

Nashville - Catherine Hamilton Barksdale -born October 9th, 1947, died after a brief illness in Franklin, Tennessee on December 6, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marian Morrison Hamilton and Fred Samuel Hamilton. She is survived by her daughter Amanda Barksdale Stanfill (Rick), her brother Fred Samuel Hamilton, her sister Julia Hamilton Cargile, her step grandchildren Alex Stanfill (Ali), Ryan Stanfill and Reagan Stanfill, her nieces, nephew and great nieces.
Cathy was a native Nashvillian who attended her beloved Woodmont Elementary School, Harpeth Hall School and Hillsboro High School. She graduated from the University of Mississippi and went on to pursue a career as a paralegal in Nashville. A lifelong Episcopalian, she was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church and served the church in various positions. Cathy always had at least 2 or 3 very spoiled dogs which were so precious to her, and she fostered many dogs throughout the years.
The family would like to thank the loving staff at Claiborne-Hughes in Franklin, TN and Seasons Hospice. A memorial service will be held in Cathy’s honor on January 7th at St George Episcopal Church. Visitation will be from 11:30AM until 1:00PM with the funeral service following at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Nashville Humane Association or Seasons Hospice Foundation.
