Mr. Edward Joseph Childers Jr. age 73 of Morganton, GA, formerly of Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday July 10, 2020 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Childers was born on Sept. 24, 1946 in Nashville, TN, the son of the late Edward Joseph Childers Sr. and the late Lucy Cheatham Childers. Ed was an avid NASCAR fan, loved being outdoors and living in the mountains. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Childers was of the Presbyterian faith.

     Surviving Mr. Childers are his loving wife and best friend of twenty one years, Patricia Jackson Childers of Morganton, one son and daughter in law, Ashley and Edward J. Childers, III of Nashville, TN, one daughter and son in law, Mitchell and Josh Blasingame of Pittsburg, PA, five grandchildren, Alex, Matthew and William Childers, Jackson and Emme Blasingame, many other relatives and friends also survive.

    A memorial service will be held at a later date in Nashville and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the American Lung Association in memory of Mr. Childers.
