Jane Corbly (Gillespie)

Marital status: Married

Occupation: Retired English Professor
Comment: Studying English, marrying my Vanderbilt "sweetheart" Dennis Corbly, and continuing on to graduate school were my pursuits after high school.  In 1971 Dennis and I moved to Dayton, OH where Dennis finished his Ph.D. research at Wright-Patterson AFB and I joined the English faculty at Sinclair Community College.  We continued to live in Dayton for the next 35 years, actively working and volunteering in the Dayton area.

We have three children, a son and twin daughters.  Our son Brett is married, lives in South Carolina, and is the Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel for a pharmaceutical company.  One of our twins Paige, also an attorney, is now serving as Assistant State's Attorney, St. Clair County, Illinois, is married, and has one son.  Our other daughter Meredith is Director of Education Policy for the Kentucky Department of Education, is married, and has two sons.

I retired in 2002 from Sinclair, and Dennis retired from General Electtric in 2005 after a long career in management.  We spend about six months each year at our home in Naples and the remainder of the year at our lake house on Lake Tellico near Knoxville.

I am currently living in Manhattan, but also Sag Harbor, Long island, and Coconut Grove, Fla. I've traveled a lot all over the world, in connection with psychology conferences for the most part.  I do look forward to seeing what everyone is doing.  I did not hear about the previous reunions, but did get invited to one in Memphis, Tenn. where I had finished the 7th grade.  I regret missing the reunion but think I am speaking in Boston on those dates.  I have published six books and haveanotherone in press.
