Comment: My husband (of almost 49 years) was in federal law enforcement, so for the first 28 years of our marriage we were transferred all over the country - including wonderful cities like Dallas, Seattle and Washington, D.C. We were happy to be able to be back in Nashville for the past 20 years. We have two wonderful children - our son lives in Texas with his family, and our daughter and her family live close by in Brentwood. They have given us eight beautiful grandchildren - seven girls and one boy! What a blessing they are to us! I really hate to miss the 50th reunion, but we were already signed up for our church's Honduran mission trip. Have a wonderful reunion! | |

Comment:
After having been the poster child for how not to select college (University of Denver), I transferred to Vanderbilt where I had a class with my future husband. He was getting a Ph.D in Political Science and I received an MLS in Library Science from Peabody after graduating from Vandy. He was offered a job at his alma mater, Centre College, in Danville KY. He taught there 40 years and I had the most wonderful job ever - research librarian at Centre. I retired in 2012 after 38 years. We have 3 sons - Will who lives in Des Moines, Pat who lives in Denver (and strangely, enough teaches at the University of Denver!) and Miles who lives in New Orleans. We have 3 grandsons who are 5, 3 & 8 mos & a GRANDDAUGHTER (first girl in 3 generations) who is 3 mos old. We refer to Danville as "Mayberry" - it has been a wonderful place to live and raise children. Through Centre, we've had amazing experiences , meeting well-known authors, politicians and artists. Centre hosted 2 vice-presidential debates, one before 9/11 & one after, which made for unique observations on the political process. Both Bill & I miss interacting with Centre's students, but appreciate having the time to visit our sons and their families. I am so excited to re-connect with the other members of our class! And a huge thanks to the Reunion Committee for all the work they've done to bring about this event!!! |
